3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features.
- Analyze your voice recordings to generate pace, stability, and filler word metrics.
- Calculate your Vocal Mirror score for each session and situation mode.
- Generate personalized feedback (1 strength, 1–2 critical improvements) per session.
- Enable Compare Take functionality between your recording sessions.
- Display your progress tracking graphs and trend labels over time.
- Process your subscription payments through Apple's systems.
- Send you important App updates, security notices, and support communications.
- Improve our AI analysis models using anonymized, aggregated data.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising targeting or sell it to data brokers.
4. Voice Data & Microphone Access
Speech Pal requires microphone access as a core feature. We take this responsibility seriously.
What we access:
- The microphone only when you actively initiate a recording within the App.
- We do not access the microphone in the background or when the App is not in active use.
How recordings are handled:
- Recordings are processed to extract delivery metrics (pace, stability, filler count).
- Raw audio may be transmitted over encrypted connections to our servers for processing, then deleted from our servers after analysis is complete, unless you choose to save a Take.
- Saved Takes are stored securely and associated only with your account.
- We do not use your voice recordings to train general-purpose AI models without your explicit consent.
Retention of Recordings:
- Free users: Last 2 sessions retained.
- Premium users: Full history retained for the duration of the subscription.
- Upon account deletion, all recordings are permanently deleted within 30 days.
🎙️ You can revoke microphone permission at any time via your iPhone Settings. This will prevent the App from functioning for recording purposes.
